Expect to be greeted at the front door as our way of making you feel welcome, because You Belong Here! There will be people available at the Guest Services kiosk to point
you in the right direction and help you find your way around. When our Worship Service begins, our musicians and singers will open with music that is meant to prepare your heart for worship. After a brief moment for a few announcements and to welcome you, we
will continue with singing to prepare your heart for the message. Our Senior Pastor,
Bob Johnson, will speak for about 40 minutes, using message slides on our screens to
help you follow along. Our services are about an hour and 20 minutes long. You’ll see people dressed casually in jeans and some in dress suits. Come comfortably!

The most important issue that you can address in this life is the issue of your standing before God. God is the Sovereign Creator and Ruler who made us in his image in order to happily and willfully live under his authority, but we rebelled. We have each chosen to go our own way in an attempt to rule our own lives. This rebellion is called sin and since God is righteous and just, our sin has to be punished. Our rebellion has to be addressed. God would be perfectly just to punish each of us for our sin, but our punishment would be more than we could bear. Since God is also gracious and merciful, he sent his own Son, Jesus Christ, to come to this earth and live the life we could not live and die the death we could not die. Jesus is our substitute. Jesus is our salvation. Jesus is our justification. Because of his death on the cross in our place, Jesus paid the price for all the sins of every single person who would ever believe on him and trust in him. In order to trust in Christ, we have to repent of our sin and put our trust in Christ and follow him as our Lord. Every person who sincerely does this, is declared righteous and placed into an inseparable union with Christ.
Every person who trusts in Christ is called to make that profession of faith a public matter by getting baptized by immersion as a statement of being united with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection. This step of obedience before the church lets others know whose side you are on and that you are indeed in the family of God. Baptism does not make you a believer; it is designed to let others know that you have become a follower of Christ.
Christ has established local congregations to be the greenhouses for his kids to grow in. Membership in a biblical local church informs the leaders of the church that you are under their direction and informs the other members that you can be counted on to be part of the collective witness of the body in order to put Christ on display.
God uses the members of the church to disciple you through the teaching of the Word, the preaching of the Word, the reading of the Word, fellowship around the Word, singing the Word and responding to the Word. Together we help one another look more and more like Jesus.
As members of a local church we financially support our church faithfully and generously in order to maintain a healthy gospel witness to our community and by supporting missionaries who are spreading the gospel in other parts of the world.
As members of a local church we serve our church by caring for one another through faithful involvement in her ministries. Each member seeks to serve in ministries that align with our giftings, but also do what our church needs to be done that Christ may be manifested through us. Whether it be choir, nursery, lawn mowing or greeting, we have many areas for serving for members. TThe first step is to set up a profile on Cornerstone Connection, here.
Twice a year, our church holds a Parent/Baby dedication. The dedication is an opportunity for our church to celebrate with parents and for parents to affirm before the congregation their desire to raise their children in the "discipline and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4) The congregation is also given the opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to doing life in Christ with parents as they enter a new season of life. If you are a member and would like to participate in Parent/Baby dedication and would like more information, please email Chad Holmgren (chad@cbcroseville.org).
