I have a measure of empathy towards our missionaries. Most of them are expected to send out an update once a month. It rarely happens, though there are a few who are better about it. But, have you ever tried to put a newsletter together? What do you say? What do you not say? You can't tell them everything, right? What pictures do you use? Do you use pictures? Does anyone even read this?

For the past 37 Christmas seasons, Cathi and I have sent out a newsletter to people outside of the church. And since I am the one who puts it together, I have to make all of these decisions, and they are not easy. So, when I get a newsletter from our missionaries (they are emailed now), I make a point to read them and of course, look at the pictures.

Several years ago, some friends on the other side of the city read our newsletter, and so did their son. He decided that he ought to meet one of our daughters, whom he did, and he is now in our newsletters.

Last night, I finished this year's version and I've attached it as a link here. It includes an update on Bobby and what his possible next step will be. Cathi and I know that many of you not only pray for us, but you have faithfully prayed for and cared for our children and now our grandchildren. We are so grateful for you, and that you are our family. Merry Christmas to each of you!

Grace and peace,

Bob
