Coronavirus Plan, 3/13/20

Dear Cornerstone-

Since changing our approach to communion last Sunday, a lot has changed with the coronavirus!  Sports have been cancelled, colleges have changed course, toilet paper is becoming more scarce… it’s amazing how uncertain our world can become when something like this happens.  We, however, rest in God and His sovereignty.

The governor of Michigan has advised that gatherings of 100 or more people be avoided.  While we wish we could ignore this request and continue to meet together, we realize that the possible repercussions of doing so is not worth the risk. So, last night, the Elder Board decided that for this Sunday, March 15, ABFs will be cancelled and the 10:45 service will be conducted online only.

Before Sunday, we will be emailing instructions to all members. This will include directions for viewing online, the time the service will be available to be seen, and an order of service (including songs you can sing at home). If you know of a member that does not have access to viewing the service online, we would encourage you to join with them if possible.  This would be a great way for you to serve your brothers and sisters.

This is the plan for this Sunday, and we will plan for the days ahead when we reach them.  As of now, the Gospel and Emotions Conference on Saturday is still on, as are other gatherings of less than 100 people.  Classes and activities for Wednesday evening the 18th are cancelled.

Our custodial staff is working hard to make sure surfaces are clean.  You can help by reading the information recommended by the CDC.

Pressing on!
