Back in March, we collected some money to be given to the relief work in Ukraine. One of the agencies that we donated to was Samaritan’s Purse. Many of you have supplied shoeboxes to Samaritan’s Purse through Operation Christmas Child (OCC). Samaritan’s Purse has a variety of ministries besides OCC including disaster relief, building projects, people ministry, and more. I’d like to take a moment to highlight their disaster relief teams and then ask you to spend five minutes watching their video.
They have two types of relief teams, one for domestic responses where volunteers perform mud-outs, repair roofs, cut down limbs, sift through ash, and remove debris, etc. Click here for more information.
The second is the Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART), which is committed to meeting the critical needs of victims of war, poverty, famine, disease, and natural disaster. They stand ready to respond at a moment’s notice whenever and wherever disaster strikes. The DART specializes in providing water, food, shelter, and medical care while sharing the Gospel. They deploy globally and respond to an array of crises and disasters. Click here for more information on DART.
This five-minute video highlights the work of the US disaster relief. Maybe you might like to join them?
