The Blog by Dave Kaynor:

We have a Members’ Meeting (MM) this Sunday. I hope all of our members are planning to attend! We posted a couple of motions back on July 14 and I wanted to spell those out a bit. They can also be found in the Quarterly Report. As usual, I have all of this in mailbag style!

Q: What did you post Anna Raese’s name for? Doesn’t she already work for the church?

A: Anna does work for the church. She has worked in a paid position as our administrative assistant for the last couple years and does a great job. In recent days, she has volunteered to be the Shut-In Care Coordinator, and the Elder Board is recommending her for this new deacon/deaconess position that we approved at the 1Q MM. Anna’s role will be to coordinate with others who help us look out for our shut-ins. If you would like to get involved, contact Anna at the church office after she is (hopefully) approved.

Q: Who is the new missionary we are supporting? When would that start?

A: Back in the beginning of the year, our missionary Bre had to step off the field because of some health challenges. Bre had just made a visit here and offered an encouraging report about what God was doing in her area of ministry. However, God had different plans.

Six months later, the Missions Team has identified Emmanuel Ndolimana as a worthy recipient of those same support dollars. Emmanuel was here last month. He is the pastor of Rugerero Baptist Church and he leads the GLEST program in Rwanda that trains pastors. Cornerstone’s Elder Board has approved this recommendation of the Missions Team, and we plan to bring it to you for a vote on Sunday night. If the motion passes, support would begin immediately.

Q: The report lists Sweep Interest in page 3. What is that all about?

A: You’ll have to come to the MM to find that one out. Nice try to get the info early!

Q: What’s with the QR code on the 2Q Report?

A: It’s a simple idea really. The Finance Team wanted to provide an avenue for questions prior to the meeting. The 30-minute Q&A session before most MM isn’t well attended, and some people don’t want to raise their hand during the meeting. Hence the QR code.

The QR code links to a form with a section for you to write a question about the 2Q report and/or make suggestions about the 2025 budget. The link to that form is here

Q: What kind of dessert are we having after the MM?

A: We are having pre-packaged ice cream sandwiches, ice cream bars, and ice cream cones… Come join us!
