Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you and your family will join us for our Thanksgiving Eve service at 7pm.  Come be encouraged and celebrate communion with us.

One of our Strategic Fund organizations we support and are thankful for is Care Net Pregnancy Center.  Going mailbag style, I asked Val Mayer, Care Net Director and Cornerstone member, how we can be involved individually and here is what she said:

D: How can individuals and families keep tabs on what’s going on with Care Net?

V: We publish a couple of newsletters.  The first one is by mail and we publish it three times a year. attached. The second option is our monthly E-newsletter which allows people to keep a pulse on what’s happening.  To receive either of these, just email me at the address below.

D: Sometimes I receive urgent prayer requests to pray for clients who are considering abortions.  What I appreciate is that you have a prayer already written out for us to pray that is God-honoring, reflective, and personal to the client. How can others be part of that prayer team?

V: Urgent prayer emails are sent out by me regularly as abortion-minded/vulnerable women are seen at Care Net. Our nurses and med team so appreciate people praying for these clients and their babies! It is a valuable way people can support the work. Email me to sign up.

D: Do you have any staff needs?

V: We are looking to hire a part-time Client Services Assistant at our Berkley location. If someone is interested, they can email me or contact the center (248) 545-6411.

D: Our church staff has visited both of your Care Net campuses.  What if someone else wanted to see your facilities and ask a few questions?

V: We have Christmas Open Houses in Berkley, Thursday November 30 from 4-6 pm and in Detroit on Tuesday, December 5 from 1-3 pm.  That gives people two options or they can go to both if they want. We would love to have people come and see the centers but also explore if God is calling them to get involved at some level with us.

D: Last question, how have we been doing providing supplies for babies at Care Net?

V: Thank you for prompting the church to help supply baby item needs! It has been a huge blessing! Lots of diapers, wipes and baby clothes, etc... have come to Care Net to help our moms and babies at Berkley and Detroit. If you would like to contribute, drop off any of these items off in the Gathering Space
