Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a few weeks away. One aspect of VBS that many of our Cornerstone kids and leaders really enjoy is the singing. Some parents download VBS songs months in advance so that their kids can come ready to sing. I’m wondering if you might consider joining in on the singing? I’m not talking about downloading VBS music to your phone, but I am talking about joining in on a particular song. Let me explain.

The book of Psalms is a collection of songs. One of those songs, Psalm 78, reminds God’s people of the important responsibility we have to “…tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done." (Psalm 78:4) There are many ways at Cornerstone that we seek to do this: We seek to equip, resource, and train parents to shepherd the hearts of their children. We ensure that children are taught the Bible when they are entrusted to our care. We strive to create environments in our children’s ministry classrooms that lend themselves to discipleship, and we host ministries like VBS. Through VBS we seek to spread the good news of the gospel not only to children from our church, but also from our community.

Vacation Bible School is one note in a much larger musical piece. It’s one expression of our desire and effort to see children “…set their hope in God…(Psalm 78:7).” VBS is scheduled for July 15th-19th. Would you consider joining in on the singing? Here are some ways you can participate:

        Pray – Pray for our teachers as they study and prepare to teach. Pray for the hearts of the kids who come - that the seeds of the Gospel that are spread would fall on good soil. During this month’s emphasis on missions - pray that God might even raise up some from this generation to take the Gospel they hear during VBS to the mission field when they are older.

       Donate – There are still several items on the VBS donation board in the Gathering Space. Stop by Sunday and find out what is still needed and what you can donate.
