We give because we love others, we want to obey God, and because giving is a result of the Gospel. 2 Corinthians 9:7 says, "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
Where does the money go?
There are three funds that you can give to at Cornerstone:
General Fund – Funds ministries, pays the bills and staff, keeps the building looking good!
Fellowship Fund – The FF is used to help members who are in short-term financial need.
20/20 Vision – Money given to the 20/20 Vision is paid directly to the bank to reduce our building indebtedness.
Who keeps track of the money and how is it spent?
The finance team is charged with putting together and maintaining a member-approved budget. The church treasurer and receivables treasurer work with the administrative pastor and the finance team to make sure all financial transactions are documented and handled properly. The church’s financials are reviewed quarterly by the members and annually by an outside firm.
